OF SPANISH-LANGUAGE LYRICS Verse I: In the past, you went But I am not going to be sad I will follow my own path Even though you tell me yes or no A new day will arrive And my desires for you will flee There will be another woman And she will embrace me Chorus: Through love I played with fear I asked for a favor I felt the pain I failed well, but afterwards I will love again Verse II: I gaze at the moon from beyond And our love fails us You couldn’t love me And now there is nothing left to give If you were to look inside You would see this very moment And now you are fearful Because your soul is ice Bridge: I will love again I will have love afterwards You know that I have a heart And I know that I am already right I will love again I will have love afterwards And I am not going to look back

OF FRENCH-LANGUAGE LYRICS Verse I: There once was a woman that I loved And this was our case— A problem of love and friendship But for her, I was only pride I invested all of my heart and my youth But I found out at the end of the sadness That she had cried many tears incessantly I witnessed a downward trend Chorus: The confidence of romance Embodies more sentiments than the ambience And, I am certain That, in the future I will have a memory of you We used to have some joy of living We locked lips in our spare time But, I still believe in us So, I would really like to love you once again Verse II: Each day when love abandons us And, when we feel that our hearts tremble I get fed up with being alone, but worse still I found out it’s you that I adore The silence of my sadness makes so much noise But, this love also poses some deep troubles I hate you from time to time, but at night Your love encompasses all that I am Bridge: Tell me something In order to save this love again Because my heart beats for you And it’s a little too strong It’s a bit late, but I know That we have a future, and All of the rest

about

"Locutio" is the first solo, and second overall, Extended Play (EP) by Céran. Recording sessions for the EP took place in Céran's home studio and at Location One Building, both in Kansas City, Missouri, between November 2012 and February 2016. Self-released on June 17, 2016, the EP features four original compositions that reflect culturally-enriched global idioms of music specific to the respective culture of the linguistic custom of each song. The EP was given the titular epithet of "Locutio," because through the term's Latin etymological origins, the name means "an utterance, word, or mode of expression," which appropriately conveys the multilingual intent of the project. The songs in successive order of appearance on the EP are respectively featured in Spanish, French, German, and Louisiana Creole. This EP represents a relative departure from Céran's signature Pop/R&B sound, and genres featured on this record include, but are not limited to, Classical Crossover, French Chanson, Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW), Rumba, Salsa, Samba, among others. Regarding the songwriting process, lyrical themes on the EP include agape, emotional turbulence, God-consciousness, heartbreak, joy, inner-confidence, introspection, love, nostalgia, optimism, spirituality, wistfulness, among others. In regard to the EP's commercial performance, streams for the EP exclusively accrued for Céran domestically in the United States. Additionally, the EP spawned the lone promotional single, "Zwazo Paradi/Encore Une Fois," which went on to peak within the Top 3 of the Clap Charts App.

Genres: Cajun, Chanson, Contemporary Christian music (CCM), Creole, Latin, Neoclassical, Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW), Operatic pop, Rumba, Salsa, Samba, World

Total time: 15:40

“Céran usually sings in English, but he surprises us by performing in French on “Encore une Fois” and in Spanish on the Afro-Caribbean-flavored “Amaré Otra Vez” (which means “I Will Love Again”).”

~Alex Henderson of Philadelphia, PA (Billboard, All Music Guide)

“Original compositions like “Encore Une Fois” and “Amaré Otra Vez” are where things really start to get interesting. Not only do they show that Céran knows his way around foreign languages, but they also display an understanding and respect for global musical idioms. The vibrant piano melody featured on “Amaré Otra Vez” skips through an upbeat Latin rhythm while Céran dusts himself off from heartbreak, looking ahead to a future love.”

~Jason Randall Smith of Mount Vernon, NY (Review You CD Reviews)

“Encore Une Fois” begins with an atmospheric wash, which heads right into a flowing, European-like piano melody. Céran sings in French on this song. The soft, vocal ballad is quite melancholic, but diverse. Céran’s French background shines on this track. A variety of symphonic washes, swishy percussion, and string-like accompaniment solidifies the track as a Francophone masterpiece. There are even accordion-like sounds over the latter half of the song, which sets the tone as a romantic melody.”

~Matthew Forss of Omro, WI (Review You CD Reviews)
